Allah Loves Those Who Seek Forgiveness
Allah has sent human beings to this world with a purpose and objective. This purpose is to believe and proclaim the Oneness of Allah. From time to time Allah sent prophets and messengers for the guidance of mankind. When the Holy Quran was revealed as the complete code of life for Muslims on the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), the prophethood came to an end. Muslims have the Holy Quran and Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as a source of guidance. But the forces of shaytaan are always at work to misguide and make the Muslims go astray and fulfill their unislamic desires. Shaytaan makes sin appear very attractive and coaxes Muslims to commit deeds that are forbidden by religion. But Allah has created man in such a way that he realizes that he has wronged after he commits a sin. So what should you do when you commit a sin? The Holy Quran says:
O you who believe! Turn to Allah with sincere repentance! [Quran, 66:8]
Whenever you commit a sin, you should turn to Allah right away to seek forgiveness. Allah loves those who seek forgiveness. Even when the prophets made mistakes they turned to Allah to seek forgiveness. So we ordinary human beings should not shy away from asking for forgiveness from Allah.
Forgiveness-a chance of improving oneself:
When you turn to Allah for forgiveness you give yourself a chance to rekindle your relationship with Allah. Allah is the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. He is all-Forgiving. So if you repent to him with the sincere intention you turn out as a better and a more composed individual.
Seek forgiveness to gain success and stay away from difficulties:
Allah says in the Holy Quran at many places that Allah loves those who seek forgiveness. So when you ask for forgiveness and pledge to become a better person, you gain a lot of success in this world and Hereafter. Such a person is saved from the wrath of evil as he is under Allah’s protection. So seek forgiveness from Allah so as to enjoy the blessings and protection of Allah the Almighty.
Seek forgiveness to attain Allah’s love and pleasure:
Allah says in the Holy Quran:
“Truly, Allah loves those who turn unto Him in repentance and loves those who purify themselves.” [Quran, 2:222]
Nothing in this world can give as much satisfaction and contentment as the feeling of being loved by Allah. So ask for Allah’s forgiveness to attain Allah’s affection.
Seek forgiveness to gain real happiness:
When you admit your sins and ask Allah for his forgiveness, it gives you a great sense of relief. It makes you feel as if a huge burden has been released of your heart. It lightens up your soul and gives a real sense of satisfaction. Not only that, when you ask for forgiveness with a pure heart and intention to become a better person, you indulge in good deeds and earn great rewards. Nothing makes a person happier than doing something good, not just for yourself but for others too. There is no hindrance between a believer and his Creator so turn to your Lord to make your own life better and more meaningful.
According to a hadith, one of the best ways to ask for forgiveness is by offering the repentance prayer. The Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) once said:
“There is no servant who commits a sin and then he purifies himself (wudoo’) and then prays two rakaahs and then seeks forgiveness of Allah except that Allah forgives him.”
So seek Allah’s love and pleasure by repenting on your sins, for Allah loves those who seek forgiveness.
